How we charge

Hourly rates for judicial review, Court of Appeal work, and abortive files

Immigration work is generally an agreed fixed fee. Judicial review, permission to appeal to the Court of Appeal, and Court of Appeal appeals are charged hourly, plus VAT where applicable. Rates also apply if a conveyancing matter is withdrawn.

Associate solicitor

£209

Paralegal

Employment tribunal work uses a director rate of £260 + VAT. Additional debt-recovery work is charged at £240 + VAT unless a further fixed fee is agreed. We will discuss a closer estimate based on complexity and the solicitor’s experience.

Immigration: 50% of the agreed fee is payable on instruction; the balance is due before the application or appeal is submitted. Instalments can be agreed in some cases. Pro bono work is offered to deserving individuals. VAT at 20% applies to UK residents (VAT number 240530156). Asylum and visit-visa clients are not charged VAT on disbursements.

Important notes

  1. 1. These are published worked examples for SRA transparency. They are not a quote until we have your instructions and confirm costs in writing.
  2. 2. VAT is charged at 20% on services to UK residents. Disbursements (Home Office fees, court fees, searches, Land Registry, counsel, experts) are extra unless stated.
  3. 3. Immigration ranges do not include Home Office application fees, the immigration health surcharge, interview attendance, or advice after a refusal.
